Meet Sally Mead
The Sussex Gardener
Growing up on a farm, I spent hours in our vegetable plot and orchard. You would often find me sitting between the rows of peas, munching on pea pods. The summers I spent at my Grandmother’s, visiting Crathes Castle and helping her out in her garden in Scotland, were huge influences on my love of gardening.

I went on to study textiles at Nottingham Trent University, specialising in embroidery. Since then, I have achieved a level 2 qualification in horticulture at the R.H.S. and studied garden design at Capel Manor in Hertfordshire. As a qualified gardener I rely heavily on my creativity when taking on new projects.

As well as gardening, I grow seasonal flowers to dry and turn into everlasting arrangements. In the garden at home I'm always accompanied by my helpers Maddie, Maud and Mabel, my three friendly Labradors.
